8 April Easter Sunday


Is the 17 annual mini beetle shoot out, with Minis from Leyland to BMW from standard to highly tuned, with Minis with Honda vetec’s, motorbike engines or even twin-engine Minis. Vs. Beetle’s from the street and drag racing worlds putting down time and speeds that should never be possible with a car designed 70 year ago. With a few campers for good look. The start of the day will be qualifying, Minis wont be able to run against the Beetles until qualifying is done then around 3pm the main event the minis will queue up along side the beetles then fired down the 1/4mile two by two each win counts as a point. Can the reigning champions the Minis hold of the Beetles for another year? York Raceway is going to hold its first ever, rolling burnout competition on Easter bank holiday. Participants will be encouraged to drag their burnouts across the startline or to keep it in for as long as possible and maybe even do figure of 8 in the centre of the track. There is no restriction to the type of vehicle. And no restriction to the use of props like flares and no pressure to burst the tyre, the perfect opportunity to send off an old pair of tyres or to bed in a new set. This competition is not about sitting stationary and see who can burst their tyres first this is about style, panache and more importantly skill.

hoping to book roxie in for MOT the following week might be cheaper to ragg it up the strip but get the sensors to work in the lambada IT worked running it on the autobahn LOL TRYING TO KEEP UP WITH MARK AND PETE ....

Trying to keep up with Mark and Pete??? They have 1000cc engines! You should be kickin' ass Slim. Take it to Minisport. They can put it on rolling road and solve any faults you have and check it's right whilst your there. They don't "tune" fuel injection Mini's but will get it running correctly. Costs £60 for an hour plus parts.

its actualy running ok ...... i had my hand brake on to give pete and mark a chance of keeping up LOL

mot every year Lambarda sensor plays up ..... cleaned it even replaced it .... its down to the emissions with a new front end exhaust manifold and the old trusty st/st RC40 ...... just a pain every year ..... got to get it warmed up .....

After having a chat with Martyn we're both gonna struggle to get there. So we have decided to call it off.

It's great fun if anyone wants to have a go.
